Introducing Pittsburgh as the Robotics Capital of the World

Challenge

The Pittsburgh Robotics Network (PRN), a group dedicated to the growth of the region’s robotics and artificial intelligence companies, partnered with Violet PR to garner positive media coverage surrounding the group’s announcement of attracting over 100 members, making Pittsburgh one of the world’s most dynamic robotics ecosystems. The network organized an event for robotics-industry leaders and Pittsburgh officials, and was looking to include media to secure press placements for the network and Pittsburgh’s role in robotics innovation.

Solution

Violet PR drafted a media advisory and press release ahead of the June 2021 Pittsburgh Robotics Network’s event, highlighting its purpose along with the network’s mission, and Pittsburgh’s new position as the robotics capital of the world. VPR strategized and reached out to national and trade media to attend the event and learn more about the network. In turn, VPR secured 10 media placements with 14.3 million impressions in outlets such as Robotics 24/7, Robotics World and Technical.ly. Most notably, VPR secured two placements highlighting the Pittsburgh Robotics Network in TechCrunch, which the network identified as their goal outlet.
